I worked at Blockbuster Video for almost 10 years, starting in 2001 (I was 17). The memories I made and friends I met there are some of the best of my life. On the Talkbuster Podcast I will discuss some of these memories with the coworkers and friends I shared them with. Hopefully you will find it as interesting to listen to as we did living it.

In this episode I am BEYOND HONORED to be joined by ALAN PAYNE, Author of Built to Fail:  The Inside Story of Blockbuster's Inevitable Bust.

Alan has been credited with building the most successful Blockbuster Franchise in United States, with a career that spanned several CEOs and eventually outlived Blockbuster Corporate.  Alan has seen it all and could be the ONLY person qualified enough to tell the true story of the rise and fall of Blockbuster.

Having only ever worked for corporate stores, I was amazed to hear how differently the franchises were able to run and now long to go back in time and work for one of Alan's stores!

Fans of the film THE LAST BLOCKBUSTER will recognize Alan as the owner of the 2nd to last Blockbuster in the USA, in Alaska.  The closing of this store and the Australia store made the Bend, OR store the LAST STORE IN THE WORLD.

This could be my favorite interview I have ever done.  I am so honored that Alan was able to lend me some of his time for this discussion, I hope you all enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording it.
